Today’s Scripture

And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. (Deuteronomy 28:2)

The original plan of God for us at the beginning was for us to be enjoy His blessings and be blessed people.

When God created man, He breathed the breath of life into him (Genesis 2:7.) Man came alive, carrying the Spirit of the Almighty God, the Spirit of excellence, creativity, and power.

God did not stop there; He pronounced what can be referred to as one of the most powerful blessings on man in Genesis 1:28. These blessings were not only powerful, but they were the first.

Adam became a man backed by the Spirit and blessings of God. He began to operate at a frequency that was above human level.

Some Blessings Adam Enjoyed That We Are Entitled To.

He had incredible energy (Genesis 2:15). He alone tended the Garden of Eden. The garden is believed to cover a large area since it could accommodate all the animals on earth and was sustained by four rivers.

That also suggests that He was perfectly healthy and did not experience fatigue as we now do today. He had no need of visiting the gym to keep to shape or go for a medical check-up to see how well his vitals are functioning. The blessing of God gave him perfect health.

He was super creative. (Genesis 2:20) Can you imagine a single man naming all the creatures of the earth? The birds of the sky, the fishes and other creatures of the sea, the beast in the wild, the crawling animals, and those deep beneath the earth.

That was super awesome. Because he had the creative Spirit of God who created the wonders of the earth in just six days, Adam functioned in a creative zone beyond human understanding.

He enjoyed maximum security. Adam was living with dangerous and deadly animals we can ever imagine, yet they could not hurt him because he had dominion over them, and they feared him.

He could deep his hand into the mouth of a lion without a single scratch. He could lay around the most poisonous snake, and nothing will happen. God’s blessing gave him dominion over all other creatures.

He enjoyed abundance. There were fruit trees of all nature for Adam to pick from. You can imagine a man who wakes up in the morning and is confused about what to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Everything man could ever want was there in abundance. There were surplus vegetables and all kinds of fresh food for his nourishment. Adam would be glowing and radiating without any skincare routine.

He slept well (Genesis 2:21.) Remember when God wanted to form Eve from the ribs of Adam, God made him fall into a deep sleep. With that, we are sure that Adam always enjoyed some naps to relax his muscles and feel good. Psalm 127:2 says God gives His beloved sleep. So, he enjoyed the blessing of sleep.

Adam enjoyed companionship(Genesis 2:18-20.)  God knew the effect of loneliness and lack of interaction and relationships, so he blessed Adam with Eve to keep him company and share intimacy with him.

With all these, we can see that God has blessed us and wants us to enjoy these blessings no matter how long we live here on earth. His Words remain forever. He does not say a thing and then changes His mind later. His blessings are here for us as believers who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus to enjoy.

God does not want us to suffer or lack anything good. In fact, God is displeased when you do not have abundance (Psalm 35:27.) Psalm 34:10 says they that seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.

But you might ask, why are Christians struggling since they are blessed people?

Man fell and experienced spiritual death, which brought a curse upon him, and he began to struggle. (Gen 3)

After man sinned, the Spirit of God which was in him and operating through him died, and he was ruled by his flesh.

He was also banished from the Garden of Eden (God’s presence) and was cursed. He began to experience the opposite of all that God initially planned for him.

The consequences of his sin flowed down to his generation, which is every man born of a woman. Death, sicknesses, and diseases, physical and emotional pain crept into the world and overshadowed the blessings God wanted man to enjoy.

However, God still loved us and wanted us not to suffer for the sins we know nothing about and enjoy the blessings He pronounced at the beginning of times, so He sent His only Son Jesus Christ (John 3:16) as a sacrificial Lamb to die for our sins for us to be forgiven and to be restored to the original plan and will of God for us.

Now, through Jesus Christ, the Spirit of God within us receives revival, and we can begin to enjoy the fruits (blessings) of the Spirit.

After we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we can reclaim all our promises and enjoy all-around blessings in our marriages, health, career, business, academics, families, and every other area of our lives.

How do you know you are blessed by God?

Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that [a]moves on the earth.”- Genesis 1:28 KJV

You will be Fruitful – Psalm 1:3, the people who do all of these things and are blessed bear fruit and have leaves that do not wither.

You will flourish and experience fruitfulness in every area of your life. Your business will yield increase, your body will not wither due to sickness, you will enjoy divine nourishment.

The Apostle Paul listed the fruits of the Spirits in Galatians 5:22-23 – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

You Will Multiply – Multiplication is not limited to giving birth to children. It is only a part of it. If you are blessed by God, you will experience an increase in your business, ministry, and other areas of your life.

You will fill the earth and subdue it – every child of God is a global citizen. Your glory and light are not restricted to your geographic location.

Jesus says you are the light of the world and the salt of the earth. (John 8:12, Matthew 5:13-16.)

What you do can impact the world positively, and your relevance will be felt beyond the borders of your country. With the internet, you can achieve this.

You will have Dominion – You will have dominion and authority over the devil and his demons.

Jesus has given us this dominion.

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19)

Thought for Today

Today’s scripture gives us the criteria to enjoy God’s blessings and to become blessed people indeed. It says we must obey the Words of God, live a holy and righteous life. Only then shall we experience divine blessing.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for all your promises to make me a blessed person. Thank you for your Son, Jesus Christ, who died to save me from sin and curse and restore your Spirit and blessings in my life. I receive grace to enjoy blessings in all areas of my life from today. Thank You, Father. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
