Main Scripture for the Day:
Romans 12:2 (NIV)
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Dear Sisters on a Journey of Faith,
Have you ever caught yourself marveling at the simplicity and uninhibited joy of a child at play? There’s something about their carefree spirit that speaks directly to our often weary souls. Let me share a story about Julie, a grandmother who rediscovered a beautiful lesson through the eyes of her grandson.
One lazy afternoon, Julie was spending quality time with her grandson, immersed in the simple joy of coloring. Her grandson, with the boundless imagination only a toddler possesses, invited her to join him in transforming a blank page into a masterpiece.
Julie, accustomed to the structured approach of staying within the lines, hesitated when her grandson encouraged her, “No, Nana, color the whole page.” To him, the entire page was a canvas waiting to be brought to life, unconstrained by pre-drawn lines or expectations.
Initially, Julie struggled with the idea of venturing outside those lines. A part of her wanted to guide her grandson towards coloring “correctly.” However, at his enthusiastic urging, she decided to let go.
She chose to embrace the freedom of coloring with the abandon of a child, to experience the joy of creation without the confines of “shoulds” and “supposed tos.”

This simple act of coloring outside the lines is a powerful metaphor for our spiritual journey. Like Julie’s grandson, we each started life with a fearless spirit, unafraid to make our mark on the world in our unique way.
Yet, as we grow, society’s expectations often become our invisible boundaries, shaping our thoughts, actions, and even our dreams.
Romans 12:2 challenges us to break free from these constraints. It calls us to a life of transformation through the renewal of our minds, encouraging us not to conform to the world’s patterns but to discover and live out God’s will for us.
This scripture isn’t merely suggesting a passive resistance to worldly influences; it’s an invitation to an active, continual process of mind renewal that allows us to discern and embrace God’s desires for our lives.
So, what does it mean to renew our minds? It means to immerse ourselves in God’s Word, allowing His truth to reshape our thinking, to question the status quo, and to courageously live out our faith in ways that might not always align with societal norms.
It’s about finding our identity and purpose in Christ, not in the accolades or expectations of others.

As women of faith, we’re called to be artists of our own lives, coloring outside the lines that the world draws for us. We’re invited to live boldly, embracing the unique palette of gifts, talents, and passions that God has given each of us.
In doing so, we become living testimonies of His grace, His creativity, and His boundless love.
Perhaps you’ve felt the pressure to conform, to fit into a mold that never quite felt right. Maybe you’ve silenced the whispers of your heart, afraid to step outside the lines for fear of judgment or failure.
Today, let’s choose to listen to those whispers. Let’s dare to color our lives with the vibrant hues of God’s love, power, and creativity.
As we journey together, let’s support one another in discovering and living out God’s “good, pleasing, and perfect will.” Let’s celebrate the beauty of diversity in our stories, our callings, and our expressions of faith.
And let’s encourage each other to keep coloring, boldly and beautifully, outside the lines.

Prayer for the Day:
Heavenly Father, Creator of all that is beautiful and true, thank You for the invitation to live a life unconfined by the world’s expectations. Help me to embrace the freedom found in Your love, to color my life with the boldness and creativity that reflects Your image.
Lord, reveal to me the areas where I have conformed to the patterns of this world and guide me in the continual renewal of my mind. I desire to know and live out Your will for my life, a will that is good, pleasing, and perfect.
Empower me to be an expression of Your transformative love to those around me.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
