Mark 4:39
Then Jesus got up and rebuked the wind and the sea. “Silence!” He commanded. “Be still!” And the wind died down, and it was perfectly calm.
The storms of life come in varying intensities – childhood traumas, broken relationships, chronic illnesses, among others. They wreak havoc in your home, they devastate your mental wellbeing, they even leave irreparable emotional damages.

I know how it feels to keep rebuilding, only to have another storm destroy it again. It’s exhausting, but there is hope!
Mark reminds us of Jesus’ power and authority, that is made available to us through His name! If you’re going through a storm today where it seems like you’re drowning and sinking, do not be discouraged, do not be afraid. The first thing Jesus did, is to GET UP!
It may be hard for you now because all your cards have been laid out, you’re running out of options, the medical report and bills seem like a final sentence, fulfilling your dreams are nowhere in sight – but you in Jesus’ name, have the power to get up! This storm will not consume you nor destroy you.

Remember WHO he is, and WHOSE you are.
When you get up, you are not allowing the storm to defeat you because you know that you are victorious in Christ.
When you rebuke evil ploys against you – sickness & harm, strongholds & generational curses, you are acknowledging that the Lord is sovereign and powerful.
When you command silence and seek Him in the process, you become one with His Spirit, that gives you the wisdom and understanding to endure the storm with perseverance.

When you become still, you are holding on to the promise of His perfect peace.
Rest in that today, my dearest. Tomorrow, we’ll fight and get up again – in Jesus mighty name.
