Psalms 104:28-29
“All creatures look to you, to give them their food at the proper time. When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things.”

There is more to life than food or clothing, and Psalms 104 reveals that to us in sweet cadence.
All creatures look to you, to give them food at the proper time –
Every time we look to the Lord – seek Him and draw near to Him – He looks at us from the Heavens, finds us, and draws near to us.
Just as how we need a supply of earthly food for physical energy, the spiritual food to nourish our souls can be found in His Word, with divine revelations at the proper time – usually when we want it, but oftentimes when we most need it.
That’s why are called to meditate on it day and night.

When you give it to them, they gather it up;
Like a seed that is nourished to grow, His Word manifests in our lives through the fruits of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
When you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things.
His favor and pleasure allow us to enjoy the good things of this world. He opens His hand every day and living in His presence, abiding in Him, meditating on His Word, make us sensitive to the good things around us that are from Him.
His creation is free and readily available to us, you just have to look up, look around you, and give yourself time to bask in wonder. The skies, the sun, moon, and stars are magnificent proofs of every good and perfect gift that is from Him!

Sometimes we get so preoccupied with life’s hustles that we literally forget to stop and smell the flowers and appreciate the good He has surrounded us with.
We must be careful though to confine His gifts to “success” or “earthly riches and leisure” or “smooth sailing lives” because we all know that following the Lord does not guarantee these things.
In this life, He reminded us that there will be trouble, but we can hold on to the truth that He has overcome the world. So take heart, and also allow yourself to fill your heart with gift He has been handing over!
Take a quick break, maybe set up that plant rack in your balcony or order a bag of fresh coffee beans or a bundle of fresh flowers. Plan that overnight backyard camping or step out of the house in pajamas at 4am just to see skyscapes.
Look for a spot with sunshine and bask in it, with your eyes closed. These little wonders are present daily, we only need to seek it to find it.

Ah, isn’t it amazing that the same God who made all these, also made you? If He knows every star and every atom of the universe, how can He not know you inside, out?
He knows your deepest desires and childhood dreams. He has not forgotten the things you delight in. Look up, and be ready to have your fill. I pray you be satisfied with the good things He has in store for you today!
