I haven’t outgrown calling my mom or dad, especially if there are many things weighing my heart down. There’s that sense of peace knowing that they’ll always answer and listen to my tearful outbursts, and even come over to bring my favorite food and comfort me in prayer.
Now if my earthly parents can do all these, how much more my heavenly Father?

Psalms 124 : 8 reminds us that our help is in the name of the Lord who is ever present, and who will always come to the rescue. We are also affirmed of that wonderful privilege through His grace to be called daughters and sons of the King of All Kings, Maker of heaven and earth!
It seems overwhelming sometimes that the “voice of reality” plants seeds of doubt in our minds that make us wonder if the Lord will really answer our cry for help.

The good news is that these questions have been answered through His faithfulness in our past. If the Lord had not been on our side back then, what could have happened?
When we think of the many times He rescued us from deep waters and dark valleys, we can be assured of the same faithfulness today and tomorrow.

Dear one, if you are wounded, worried, afraid, in trouble or in despair, I encourage you to call on His name. He will answer, He will listen, and He will help you.
After all, He is the Maker of heaven and earth. Is there anything too hard for Him?
