Psalm 27 : 13 – 14 (NIV)I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord

Life in this world is all about waiting :
From the moment were were conceived to that first breath out of our mother’s womb, we were surrounded by people who waited for us to show signs of life. Even farmers and gardeners alike, wait for harvest season.
Wine takes time to make, and we all know that the finest wines are those that have aged the longest. Grocery queues and online orders make us wait, even what’s cooking! We’re all used to waiting, but it’s an arduous process to wait for things that matter most.
What are you really waiting for?

Perhaps it’s that most coveted role in a big project or your well-deserved promotion that’s still pending. It could be about finding God’s best, finally having that long awaited marriage talk or proposal, or maybe finding a partner to grow old with after being widowed for so long.
It’s probably finding your passion in careers you want to pursue or having a purpose-filled motherhood. It could be a dream house or car for your self-fulfillment or for your growing family.
It could be recovering from sickness or emotional traumas, deliverance from debt, restoration of damaged relationships. It could be anything and everything in this world that matters to you and the people you love.
That’s why waiting seems okay for a while but when it stretches beyond our timeline and human strength to endure, we become discouraged. We begin thinking we don’t deserve good things and start doubting the Lord while asking “why me”, “why now?”, just “whyyyyyy, Lord?”
WHY do you have to wait?

You may not have all the answers now but you can be certain in who He is. He is sovereign and all-knowing, He knows what He is doing. You can be assured that He is preparing you for greater and bigger things in store for you.
He is working on your heart. We are instructed in Proverbs 24:3 to “guard our heart for it affects everything that we do,” while Matthew 6:21 emphasizes “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”. Let me ask you…
WHERE is your heart resting while waiting? I pray it’s in His presence, through His word. I know it’s tiring to wait in the right place, but this is how you can take heart, and stay focused.
Until WHEN will you wait?

Maybe when your heart is ready, maybe when you start saying yes to Him in obedience, maybe when He says it’s time. In any case, remember that the Lord’s time and timing are different from ours, but you can trust that Everything is made beautiful in His time (Ecc 3:11).
All the answers to these questions point to WHO is making you wait.
When you fix your eyes on WHO instead of WHAT, you can expect that what He will give you is always better than what you have in mind – not because you deserve it, but because He is GOOD, and He is God.
When you fix our eyes on WHO instead of WHY, you can declare His promise in Romans 8:28 that “everything will work together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.” because He is good, and He is God.
When you fix our eyes on WHO instead of WHERE, your heart is in the right place – being molded, shaped, and prepared for every good and perfect gift that is from Him, (James 1:17) because He is good, and He is God.

When you fix our eyes on WHO instead of WHEN, you’ll endure every season with hope and joy that comes from His promise of harvest in His time, because He is good, and He is God.
You see, life is all about waiting but life in His presence is about knowing. And because you know that your life in this world is preparing you for Lord’s coming, you won’t feel as burdened and troubled by what, where, when and why’s anymore.
Knowing Him brings peace that transcends all understanding. Knowing Him makes you confident of this:
You WILL see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
