God’s mercy is one of the most precious realities of our physical and spiritual existence in the world; it is one of the most revealing themes in all the scriptures. Tragically, it is also one of the most misunderstood truths about God.
One of God’s indisputable attributes is His overflowing mercy; He is extremely merciful. Psalm 103:8 “The Lord is Merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and Plenteous In Mercy.”

Mercy is God’s nature. More importantly, since man is made in God’s image and likeness, His mercy does not only show us who He is, but it also tells us something important about ourselves.
We can show mercy! If we study God’s word, we will understand that God’s mercy is deliberate.

Dearly beloved, mercy is not a weakness; it speaks more to our strength. I may not understand how deep your hurt runs, how long you’ve had to endure, or everything you’ve had to go through, but I understand that it’s not impossible to show mercy.
Although we may be filled with a lot of weaknesses, however, we also took on all the best qualities of God. We are after all His most magnificent creation, made in His image and likeness.

No matter how many bad choices we’ve made in the past or the magnitude of our sins, we have the best qualities of God in us! I beseech you, be intentional about it and it will shine. Beloved, I pray that God will give us the grace to be the best versions of ourselves.
